Description
Musor
Salt Lake City based psychedelic band, ‘MUSOR’, with its four members representing Peru, Guatemala and the US have been performing together for 10 years, adventuring to the US in search of that perfect rock and roll tone. In addition to this safari, Javier Catalan (bass) and Pearl (keys/synth) stand ready to play an unearthly experience of dynamic musical psychedelia and story in their native tongue, Castellano.
Musor has been playing many local shows, trying to expand their tune and tones, with two Studio EPs and a single they had managed to be invited to events such as Kilby Block Party 2023, Psych Lake City 2021, 2023, 2024, DIY Fest 2022, 2023, Revival Fest 2023, 2024 and many more. Opening shows for bands like Hoover iii, Spoonbenders, The Thing, El Shirota (Mex), Ulrika Spacek (UK), Acid Mother Temple (Japan), Orua (Brazil), Combo Chimbita among many more. It makes us one of the most active bands in Salt Lake City, appearing in articles in local magazines such as Slug Magazine - "Localized 2022" and Cityweekly Music Picks.

The Lingo
To call The Lingo a throwback to the ‘60s and ‘70s would be an almost-accurate misnomer. While the local psych/surf five-piece certainly draws noticeable inspiration from forerunners like The Doors, The Velvet Underground and Buffalo Springfield, they actually belong to a broader community of musicians who have kept the spirit of groovy, psychedelic rock alive through the decades since Woodstock. This community includes other modern-day bands like Babe Rainbow, Levitation Room and Holy Wave. As The Lingo’s lead guitarist and vocalist, Adam Borgione, tells me during our interview at Salt Lake Coffee Break, “We’re still out here. It still exists. It’s a contemporary thing.”
Freakbuck
After completing a series of now legendary shows as a DJ at the Holiday Inn on 600 South in Salt Lake City, DJ Freaky Bucky (aka Matt Claflin) sold his turntables and bought an 88-key Casio keyboard. Never having played the piano previously, Matt spent hours honing his skills and writing emotional ballads about his personal life. Soon after, he recruited bassist Ivy Frasier and Nick Anderson to play a string of shows around the Midwest (now referred to as “The Corn Tour”), after which the band retired for a decade due to creative differences. After a single live recording was unearthed and uploaded to bandcamp, titled “Live at the Barn”, the band was forced to come out of hiatus and begin playing again for adoring crowds all over the world. Sponsored by G-Fuel.
Also at some point Art showed up, but no one knows who he is.
